Thank you!

Good morning Lord,

What a beautiful morning you created today.  Thank you for that.  It is Friday and a beautiful morning which makes it most difficult to have a bad day.  Like every morning, I must thank you for letting me see the light of another day.  I have been so busy these last few weeks that I have lost my conscious contact with you and it shows.  Knowing how necessary it is to have conscious contact with You, a friend of  mine suggested I write to You.  I really like that suggestion.  I miss my time with You and, like I said before, I can really tell a difference when I miss that time with You.

As weird as this may sound, thank You for the hard times.  I have always heard you are always learning, but it is in the hard times you really learn.  There is no other option but to learn.  The bad times can be rough...very rough.  Sometimes I think I cannot make it through them, but You have shown me otherwise.  I have a greater understanding of what it means to be grateful, too.  It used to be difficult for me to be serious in my gratefulness.  Not to say I thought being grateful was a joke or I wasn't grateful, but I presumed that waking up every morning, having shelter, being in good health, my children's good health, having food, etc. was a given.  I presumed all of those things were supposed to be given to me just because I was me.  I now know from experience, "...the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away..."  How could I have been so egotistical?  How could I have been so self-centered to think I deserve anything?  I realize now I am truly blessed and it is all because of You!

What's more, even in my time of arrogance You still loved me unconditionally!  You showed me grace and for that I am ever so thankful, Lord.

Thank You from the bottom of my heart for loving me just as I am and for showering me with Your grace.

Sincerely Yours,
J
